Job title: Senior Scientist
Guanglin Yu was trained as a cryobiologist. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Minnesota in 2018. His research seeks to understand the principle of cryopreservation through image-based analysis of cryopreserved cells using confocal Raman microscopy. His research characterized freezing and thawing responses of multiple types of cells cryopreserved in both DMSO and non-DMSO cryoprotectants, in order to enhance the understanding of freeze/thaw damage and develop strategies to mitigate damage. With his experience of working on autologous cell therapy and knowledge of cryopreservation, he hopes to bring insight to the cryopreservation of allogenic cell therapy.
